Engineering Manager (m/f/d)

You will play a key part in taking our software delivery to the next level. We offer the exciting opportunity to join a young team with an exciting product early on, and play a significant role during the growth phase of the organization. As part of the engineering department, you will:

• Lead and manage one or multiple agile teams within buynomics, and be responsible for their success
• Attract, train, grow, mentor, and retain a team of rockstar engineers, establishing a high-performance culture in fastly growing teams
• Closely cooperate with peers from Engineering, PM, UI/UX, Data, and Senior Management on structures, processes, direction, vision, and roadmaps, contributing to best practices throughout the product-side of the organization
• Provide technical direction wherever needed

Requirements

Essentials

• 5+ years of experience as an engineer in a web development context (more is a plus)
• 2+ years of experience in an Engineering Manager or a similar role, with people and delivery responsibility (more is a plus)
• Proficiency in balancing both timely delivery to business and developing highly maintainable, scalable, and secure software
• Proven expertise in agile methodologies
• Excellent communication and people skills that allow facilitating effective and efficient communication both with senior management as well as junior developers
• High degree of motivation and ownership, with the power and mindset to strive for excellence in a high-growth setting with ambiguities and business pressure, and the willingness to get the hands dirty on all levels
• Strong conceptual abilities with a good understanding of business requirements
• Good verbal and written English

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the Typescript, React.js, Node.js stack
• Experience with cloud architecture (e.g. on AWS)
