Your Work-life opportunity

As Sr. Data Scientist at Xcelirate, you will develop and follow up data products through their entire lifecycle, elevating our analytics and reporting capabilities while being a key element in helping define strategies and actions for the business.

You will be part of a team where you will:

  • Build, deploy and maintain state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms for various use cases such as segmentation, churn prediction, demand forecasting, fraud prevention, and anomaly detection among others.
  • Understand our stakeholders and act as a link between business and analytics requirements. Be able to translate their needs into actionable to help them understand the past and predict future behavior.
  • Use large data sets to train and identify key insights that influence product improvements and drive business strategy
  • Create A/B tests to measure improvements
  • Apply statistical knowledge to understand our business, customers and predict future behavior
  • Use a scientific approach for segmentation, clustering and classification among others.
  • Communicating with team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for data projects.
  • Being the steward of data quality, ensuring that metrics are consistently reported across the catalog of data products.
  • Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) for a number of initiatives and projects.
  • Utilizing data visualization tools and techniques to effectively communicate findings and insights.
  • Developing and delivering presentations to various audiences, including senior management and stakeholders.
  • Continuously learning and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in data management and analysis.
  • Help us identify and prevent fraudulent activity through data analysis

Requirements

Who Are You?

  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in data science, advanced analytics or related field
  • 5 years of proven experience with building statistical and/or machine learning models
  • You have expertise in implementing data science approaches and solutions. Proven ability to design and deliver end-to-end data science products and services ready for consumption.
  • Excellent understanding of SQL, Python, statistical modeling packages, scientific computing libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Scipy or related) and machine learning tools and concepts. R and Tensorflow are a plus.
  • Able to communicate sophisticated quantitative analysis in a clear, detailed, and concise manner to senior management including presentation and documentation.
  • Can stay up to date with external factors affecting the market (seasonality, economical, political, etc) and be able to apply this intelligence into your work.
  • You should be data-driven in your decision-making and be able to independently define and report vital KPIs for complex web projects.
  • Have working experience in Agile and SCRUM, Kanban, and be able to follow these frameworks to data projects effectively.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques
  • A strong team player, willing to share knowledge with other team members and help out where needed
  • A strong understanding of data management and analysis
  • Experience managing project timelines and deliverables
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent, engaging presentation skills
  • Prior experience working with web platforms and websites
  • A data-driven mindset in decision making
  • A working understanding of fraud prevention concepts (a plus)
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts (a plus)
  • Experience with reinforced and human-assisted machine learning (a plus)
