About the role:
As an Android Engineer as part of a cross-functional team, you’ll play an integral part in building Baraka’s product ecosystem. We are looking for a self-starter with a product driven mindset that will help us build amazing products and features from concept to execution. You will collaborate seamlessly with our mobile development team as well as backend and web developers in improving our mobile development practice, implementing new features, improving performance, and building best in class apps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with our existing team to help build new and maintain existing features.
- Be involved in our feature processes, working closely with the product and design team to help refine our new features.
- Work in a fast paced agile environment, with high responsibilities and ownership towards the projects you own.
- Work closely with other mobile engineering members, sharing your existing knowledge and best practices to enrich the knowledge and experience in the team
- Dive into the code to create clean components, develop and refine features, write tests as well as keep an eye on maintainability, performance, and stability.
Requirements
What we look for:
- BS or Masters in Computer Science or related technical field.
- You have at least 4+ years experience in developing apps for the Android Platform.
- You have experience with RxJava, along with a strong understanding of Kotlin and the Android Framework. Familiarity with Flutter will be a plus
- You have a passion for great UX and UI, and have experience collaborating with designers and product teams.
- Good experience in communication to backend systems using REST API and socket programming.
- You have experience in designing, deploying, and monitoring a highly scalable environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
