We are looking for a Head of UX to join our Dating team and take our high-volume entertainment dating sites to the next level
As the Head of UX, you will be responsible for driving all aspects of user experience and user interface design for our mature products and new-generation sites and apps. You will work closely with other departments, including product development, tech, and data analysis to ensure our products meet the needs and priorities of the business as a whole.
Reporting to the Product Director, this is a hands-on and strategic role that requires a solid background in conceptualizing, designing, and creating exceptional product experiences for consumers, while understanding the needs and priorities of the business as a whole. You will lead a small team of designers and act as a thought leader in the UX department.
Responsibilities
- Act as a thought leader in the UX department, providing mentorship to a small team of designers, with the potential for team growth and expansion
- Understand product specifications and user psychology, producing seamless interactions that lead to higher usability and retention.
- Understand the ever changing competitive landscape and keep abreast of trends, introducing innovation to make sure our products stay on top of what the audience wants
- Research user behaviors and requirements through qualitative and quantitative data insights, included but not limited to user testing, funnel analysis, surveys
- Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs, create a design system that suits our suite of products
- Understand the higher level business goals and direction, and translate these into a product strategy together with the other stakeholders
- Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, as well as new functions and features.
- Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs.
- Create attractive and usable UIs
- Advocate the product vision to the teams as well as executives and founders.
Requirements
- At least 6 years proven experience as a UX Designer
- Experience leading a team of designers in a small to medium sized setting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present and sell concepts to colleagues in a clear, simple, engaging, and relatable manner.
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to generate creative solutions and consider a variety of alternative solutions for each problem
- Ability to work well independently as well as with a team
- Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
- Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.
- Strong portfolio of design projects
- Experience with design systems and brand guidelines
- Experience with App Design
- Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
- Proficient in design software (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative suite an advantage but not a requirement)
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is an advantage but not essential
- Fluent level of English
