Job Description
Zetta Genomics is a fast-scaling, global genomics data technology company headquartered in Cambridge, UK and with our Engineering hub in Valencia, Spain.
As a DevOps Engineer your main responsibility is ensuring that our systems are delivered and deployed in the most robust and efficient way. This is a varied and challenging role working with both Delivery and Engineering teams over full project lifecycles. You will:
- Analyse the technology used by our products and develop steps and processes to improve their delivery and deployment.
- Assist other engineers in designing solutions, creating practical demonstrations and demonstrating them to other members of the team.
- Provide input into client proposals through assessment of technical needs, capabilities and requirements.
- Install, configure, optimise and manage complex full-stack, big-data systems for development, evaluation and production use including in regulated clinical environments.
- Ensure that our systems are operating correctly and are secure against cybersecurity threats.
- Identify, record and resolve issues related to product delivery and deployment.
- Respond to client issues to provide highly responsive customer service and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
- Produce and review relevant documentation to ensure supportability of our systems including compliance with SaMD (software as medical device) regulations .
Requirements
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience in cloud/virtualised environments. Hands-on experience with big data (e.g. Hadoop, MongoDB, Solr, ) technology is preferred.
- Masters degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Current understanding of best practices regarding:
- Linux administration and bash programming
- Cloud environments experience is necessary (Azure, AWS), Valuable Terraform, OpenStack and other virtualization systems
- Kubernetes experience required, and Helm package development desirable.
- Monitoring, dashboard design and alerts configuration.
- System security measures.
- System and integration testing.
- CI/CD.
- Familiarity with agile practices and project management processes (e.g. Jira, Confluence).
- We use GitOps methodology, our infrastructure, deployment and configuration is versioned with the code. So a good understanding of GitHub is required.
- Ability to work well with distributed delivery and engineering teams, conversational-level English is a bonus.
- Ability to write accurate and meaningful technical documentation and to present to internal and external audiences at meetings, training workshops and conferences.
- Strong organisational and customer facing skills.

Salary: Up to 40K per annum
25 days holiday exclusive of Bank Holidays
Flexible and Remote working options available, we have a hybrid working model with 2 days a week in the office, 3 at home. For applicants outside of Valencia, a monthly trip to the office will be required
