JOB SUMMARY

We seek a Lead Product Designer with the knowledge, skills, experience, passion and leadership abilities to create products that our users will love.

As a leader within the product design team, reporting to the Head of Product Design, you will advocate for the user at every turn, ensuring our products are attractive, pleasurable, friction-free and effortlessly intuitive.

You will own and execute the end-to-end product design and research process in your team, from discovery through to ideation and execution. This will involve a variety of research, design and coordination tasks everything from running user research workshops to iterating designs to achieve pixel perfection.

You will be a lead individual contributor while managing direct reports.

You will collaborate closely with many colleagues and stakeholders in Product and other teams


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Product Managers, Designers, Product Owners, Engineers and others to design and deliver key new product roadmap features, and improve existing features and solve usability challenges
  • Own the overall end-to-end user experience across your entire product from the big picture down to specific interactions, and ensure that users love the product
  • Help define product requirements through collaborative ideation and high-level prototyping, with subsequent validation
  • Lead by example, as well as contributing to team leadership activities such as mentoring and coaching, project planning, onboarding or recruiting
  • Contribute to the growth and development of your direct reports
  • Hold regular 1-to-1s, performance review and other related people-development activities with your reports
  • Work with UX Researchers to test assumptions and hypotheses and rapidly integrate feedback into design iterations
  • Own and implement the design process followed by your team, with best practices, including a strong focus on data and behavioral research


REQUIREMENTS

  • A portfolio with compelling case studies of previous work is a must
  • Excellent spoken and written English, and excellent communication skills
  • 7+ years experience in Product Design and/or related field
  • 2+ years people management experience
  • Strong leadership skills, including decisiveness, integrity, growth mindset and a positive attitude
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Expertise in Figma and other design tools
  • Excellent understanding of design principles including usability heuristics, layout and visual hierarchy principles, typography, etc
  • Deep understanding of front-end coding frameworks (HTML, CSS, JS, etc.) and the interplay between design and engineering
