What you’ll be responsible for as a Android Engineer
The Photobox mobile apps team have recently completed their first steps in creating a brand new experience for our customers. We’re excited to improve on this and continue being the best way to order personalised gifts on mobile.
The impact you’ll make:
- Developing and maintaining our Android apps as part of the mobile apps team.
- Developing Android apps using Kotlin using MVVM with Android Architecture Components and the latest and greatest technologies such as GraphQL, Room and LiveData, ensuring that all code is tested to the appropriate standards to allow us to ship regularly.
- Owning your tasks from refinement to delivery.
- Regularly ship apps in a mission-driven environment where teams are free to make their own decisions.
- Work within a close-knit, cross-functional team, and be keen to get involved with UI / UX Design, mobile development, backend development, product management, marketing or customer support.
- Share super interesting facts about the world when it’s your turn at our daily stand-ups.

APG Tech Stack:
Developing Android apps using Kotlin using MVVM with Android Architecture Components and the latest and greatest technologies such as GraphQL, Room and LiveData, ensuring that all code is tested to the appropriate standards to allow us to ship regularly.
Requirements
Minimum experience needed:
- Solid Android development knowledge in Kotlin
- Comfortable using Git and Github
- Experience retrieving and sending data to remote systems
Even better if you have experience with:
- Android Architecture Components
- Jetpack Compose
- GraphQL (Apollo)
- AWS - Serverless
- iOS development
- Swift/Objective-C

We are working in a hybrid environment and this role is based in our Barcelona office, situated in a WeWork by Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes, a hub for technology and innovation. Within walking distance of public transport, the beach and shopping centres, the office has great facilities (coffee, tea, showers, bike parking, social events and more) with a modern working atmosphere.
There are approx. 15 people in the office, who work across all areas of the business, with a focus on analytics, marketing, and technology.
