Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE:

Member of Medical Affairs Department, providing high quality scientific and clinical support to medico-marketing activities and to the field-based teams (where appropriate) to support the Iberia Regional Commercial Unit (RCU). To build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders (external experts, medical societies, and Patient advocates and Organisations) as well as help manage any clinical research conducted or supported by Norgine.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES amp; ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Be the local internal medical expert for the according medicine/s and therapy area
  • Review and sign-off of promotional and non-promotional materials for Norgine products, to ensure compliance with the Codes of Practice
  • Work to ensure compliance in all Norgine Spain amp; Portugal procedures including GxP, Codes of Practice and medicines legislation.
  • Lead medical affairs projects and activities in Norgine products in Iberia
  • Represent Medical and contribute with medical expertise in the local cross-functional team for the according medicines and therapy area
  • Maintain high standards of technical proficiency.
  • Support in the medical training of Norgine staff and partner’s staff.
  • Develop relationships with external experts, patient organisations and professional groups

MAIN TASKS:

Medical Affairs activities

Be the Medical expert for the local BU Brand Leads. Contribute with scientific expertise to medicinal products for Iberia in such a way that medical questions can be dealt with promptly, accurately and in line with local procedures and legal requirements.

  • Leverage clinical/scientific data to optimise the delivery of brand plans, supporting IISs as required , and Norgine Studies ( RWE, etc)
  • Be the point of contact for the understanding and internal management of local company-sponsored real world studies and related publications
  • Work with CROs, as required, in the analysis of the data; share the data internally and externally (investigators) for interpretation, positioning and publication planning
  • Act as the local primary data expert for the products.
  • Support the development of medical affairs projects amp; publications plans
  • Collaborate with Norgine MSLs in presenting scientific data to HCPs
  • Plan and lead national advisory boards and expert meetings, share insights appropriately within Norgine
  • Understand current and future positioning aims for the brand and identify scientific activities that support the achievement of those aims.
  • Identify and share new published data and communicate insights to the Business Unit and other relevant stakeholders (MAPA, Regulatory, Sales..)
  • Monitor key information sources of changes within the pharmaceutical industry, national health system and healthcare which may impact on Norgine products and communicate of relevance to the local brand team / BU
  • Proactively identify needs for promotional/ non-promotional material and discuss with Local BU Leads amp; cross-functional team
  • Offer External Expert insights to support medical and scientific strategy and communications
  • Through expert knowledge of the scientific data and using clinical experience and knowledge, form part of the core team for the development of clinical arguments for HTA submissions
  • Review of Norgine products promotional/ non-promotional materials to ensure compliance with the applicable Codes of Practice- Farmaindustria/ Apifarma
  • Sign off promotional and other material in line with the Company certification procedure.
  • Support the Medical Director with compilation of effective complaints against competitor promotional campaigns and defence of complaints against Norgine Brands claims as appropriate
  • Establish and develop strong relationships with key external customers including External Experts/ professional groups in relevant therapeutic area, in order to gain insights to support sound decision making and brand strategy development.
  • Identify opportunities for collaborative work, such as research, guideline development, meeting presentations etc.
  • Provide accurate and non-promotional scientific information relating to licensed and unlicensed products and indications following unsolicited requests from HCPs
  • Develop relationships with patient groups and third party organisations to facilitate the exchange of scientific and clinical information around Norgine products and raise awareness of relevant disease areas .
