The Challenge
We are looking for an experienced Product Designer who will directly support the Design System initiative in Wallapop. Someone passionate about creating new digital experiences, from concepts to specs and prototypes. A trained eye for excellent visual design execution with the main focus on delivering remarkable experiences.
You must be able to lead projects with minimal oversight and solve problems while committing to the workstream's roadmap, partnering with the product and engineering team. Designing for designers, seeing them as the main users of the system libraries, and working close to engineers to bring the best design and technical documentation. You thrive in team settings and are aligned with our vision: We believe in an alternative way of consuming. And what we do every day is focused on creating the most powerful, easy, and best tool for real people to buy and sell second-hand stuff.
On the part of a passionate multi-disciplinary UX team of 20+ people, you’ll join a Systems nerdy crew of 4 people, working closely with a Design Manager, a Product Designer, and a DesignOps Specialist. We love what we do and like to share our unique hobbies, from History, Art, Sci-Fi, and Music to rare instruments and more.
What You Will Do
- Define and maintain a cohesive set of UX and visual guidelines for all Wallapop's digital services.
- Advocate for accessibility in your work.
- Contribute permanently to Wallapop's Figma library and its online documentation used by product designers, engineers, brand designers, and other teams at Wallapop.
- Find a balance between your individual contributions and collaborating with other designers through the organization.
- Support other designers in order to increase design system adoption and facilitate channels to collect feedback for improvement and iteration of the system.
- Create artefacts to communicate ideas, concepts, and proposals and to support decision-making.
- Use user research and data to inform your work.
- Ability to participate in conversations about product strategy with product amp; engineering managers.
- Share your work in the right forums and present cross-functionally to inspire peers and stakeholders.
- Make sure to keep our product up to date with the latest digital trends.
What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience working in UX/UI within digital products embedded in cross-functional teams under agile methodologies.
- Track record of contributing to building design systems that enable great digital products and experiences.
- Fluent with current industry design tools such as Figma, Adobe CC, Miro, Confluence, Jira, Zeroheight, etc.
- Experience designing complex information architectures.
- Experience creating and maintaining design libraries and design specifications.
- A strong visual portfolio of case studies showing your design amp; visual skills.
- Excellence in Visual Design / Brand craft and aesthetics.
- Apply empathy for your users in your design solutions.
- Successful experience partnering with research, design, product, and engineering.
- A learning mindset: Proactively reach out for industry references and new trends.
- Comfortable presenting and sharing work and ideas.
- Good judgment using existing guidelines and detecting guidelines gaps
- Good understanding of Design operations and QA processes.
- Understand the basics of front code languages: HTML, CSS, javascript
- Attention to detail
- A collaborative mind passionate about defining amp; creating visuals as a team.
- Passion and capability to imagine micro-interactions and motion design is a plus.
- Experience designing for different platforms (Web, Web mobile, iOS, Android) is a plus.
