About the role:

Reporting to the Supplier Quality Manager, Supplier Quality Plant Inspection Team Leader is a fast paced, dynamic role requiring decision making at the strategic and tactical levels. The job requires a highly motivated self-starter with an ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Provide leadership to inspectors and technicians that support receiving inspection, first article inspections, samples qualification and inspection method validation.

Plant Incoming Inspection is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily tasks for the Incoming Inspection team. The Team Leader plays a key role in ensuring effective daily operation of the department, ensuring the Quality ramp; consistent, predictable flow of incoming material and in supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Maintains quality standards by ensuring the procedures are current and followed and that the Incoming Inspection team is trained and competent to perform their duties.

The Team Leader must have excellent communication skills, the ability to effectively interact with all levels of associates and functional departments in the organization including external customers and a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Through outstanding communication, effective problem solving and active management of ambiguous amp; complex situations, the primary deliverables for the role are to ensure capable processes are implemented and maintained at manufacturing areas through ongoing inspection ramp; testing in compliance with the Quality System requirements.

Working location would be in our new plant in Zona Franca, Barcelona.

Your day to day:

  • Responsible for Receiving Inspection, Metrology processes and metrics.
  • Manage the planning and document test procedure determining measurement methodology / equipment.
  • Counsel, Coach and Mentor team members as required ensuring optimal departmental performance.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with the Quality Systems Regulations and participates in audit processes.
  • Ensure new products, equipment and processes are effectively introduced and controlled to internal and external standards.
  • Proactively drive and react to system trending (e.g., deviations, NCs) to ensure ongoing quality performance.
  • Coordination and implementation of analyses in the event of internal and/or external quality problems arising from outsourced parts.
  • Secure short-term delivery of production in the event of a claim. Take decisions on quality initiating and supervising required measures (e.g. reworking, termination of deliveries, special releases, etc.).
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Quality and Planning/Purchasing to ensure continuous flow of parts.
  • Work collaboratively with Supplier Quality to maintain and improve supplier performance ramp; relationships.

Requirements

  • 3 years+ experience in Automotive and/or Electronics sector manufacturing (or similar regulated industry).
  • Familiar with IATF and ISO 9001:2015 and having lead/participated in related audits ramp; inspections.
  • 3 years+ experience in plant Quality or Quality Operations.
  • Experience managing / leading teams.
