The Challenge

We are looking for a Principal Researcher to join our UX research team and become a leading UX role in our PROs team. As a principal researcher, you will play an influential role, contributing to defining the product strategy and ensuring its right and impactful implementation. You will also be a mentor and role model for other UX roles and push the impact of Research in Wallapop.

This is the right match for someone passionate about being the voice of users with a capacity to balance them with our business and product needs to achieve our objectives. With extensive experience in forming and defining design strategies applied to digital products and services. A proactive role capable of collaborating and communicating effectively with different stakeholders to ensure an impact on the user experience.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with the head of product, design and analytics managers to define the business/product strategy for a product area.
  • Conduct research coordinating the scope and dealing with a high complexity of work, collaborating with different teams and covering C2C and b2C initiatives.
  • Interpret complex sets of quantitative and qualitative data, and apply its analysis to solve identified business problems. Communicate and facilitate decision-making and make recommendations.
  • Collaborate, negotiate and ensure influence on product managers, designers, and technology and business roles to experiment, test and prioritize solutions based on user’s data.
  • Mentor and guide other researchers and product roles for developing knowledge, skills, and confidence for collaborating and performing research if applicable.
  • Collaborate with the UX and Research team in developing and aligning operations and standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience on the fields of design research, strategy, service design and/or interaction design. Advanced degree (master, Phd is a plus).
  • At least two years of experience working with business partners and product stakeholders and proven record of stakeholder influence for translating business needs into customer needs.
  • Experience applying different research methodologies, such as usability testing, ethnographic research, co-creation and participatory research, developing interviews, contextual inquiry, etc.
  • A strong sense of ownership and initiative towards elevating the Research practice, with a delivery and positive impact mindset
  • Experience mentoring junior roles in practice.
  • Comfortable working in highly uncertain and fast-paced environments and flexible to collaborate with multifunctional teams.
  • Great written and verbal storytelling and communication skills in English and Spanish. The ability to perform research in Spanish is key. Other languages like Italian or Portuguese are a plus.
  • A broad understanding of the e-commerce/marketplaces industry and cross-industry knowledge is a plus.


Do note that all our jobs are Barcelona based. We work in a mostly remote capacity offering great flexibility to our employees, but we believe in the power of getting together regularly in our office. As a first iteration, we expect a 4+ day/month office attendance for which the specifics are decided on a team level.
