A unique opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to play a lead role in scaling VavaCars. We are in vibrant scale-up mode, having just raised $50 million in Series B funding so you will have the opportunity to make important contributions and be a key player at a hugely exciting time. Headquartered out of London, with initial locations in Pakistan and Turkey, we aim to provide ease, transparency, simplicity, and trust to buyers and sellers of used cars, which includes consumers, corporates, and franchise- and independent- used car dealers.
Role Mission
We are looking for an agile creative thinker who is skilled at developing automated tests that will allow us to release new features quickly, frequently, and to a high level of quality. While we have a level of test automation already in place, this is a great opportunity to play an instrumental part in taking us to a position where we are truly state of the art.
Our existing test suites are written in C# amp; Selenium and we use Azure DevOps amp; BrowserStack, so strong experience in these areas would be of particular interest to us.
The team is growing rapidly, so the ability to provide technical guidance to more junior team members will also be a key part of the role. One key challenge will be ensuring a consistent approach across an international team in a fast-paced environment.
The right candidate will enthusiastically champion test automation and will find innovative ways to improve test coverage and execution times.
- You will design, develop and maintain automation scripts, both backend and frontend
- You will execute the scripts through an Azure DevOps pipeline
- You will provide guidance and support to more junior colleagues
- You will stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
- You will propose and implement new ways to improve our automated test capability. An ability to find solutions to complex and hard problems and ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
- Experience working in an Agile development process
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Experience of working with colleagues and suppliers based in other countries
- Mentoring and guiding more junior colleagues
- Solid knowledge of the following is required:
- C#
- Selenium
- SQL
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Experience in the following areas is desirable, but not essential:
- Performance, load, and volume testing
- Azure DevOps
- BDD
- TDD
- BrowserStack or similar
