About the role:

We are currently looking for an experienced Legal Advisor to join our legal team, reporting directly to our Head of Legal. Tasks that you will be entrusted with include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and draft software, confidentiality and data privacy agreements with schools, districts, corporations and public authorities, within the USA, EMEA, APAC and LATAM frameworks.
  • Assist in the periodic review and adjustment of the company’s public policies (Terms of Service and Privacy Policy).
  • Assist all departments of the Company in regard to legal concerns, including, but not limited to, content development (e.g., copyright and intellectual property), HR (e.g., contract terminations, leaves of absence, disciplinary actions), corporate (e.g., opening new branches/offices, drafting of board approvals/consents) marketing (e.g., email campaigns, contests and sweepstakes), and sales (e.g., service contracts, bidding processes and procurement).
  • Oversee all legal aspects of commercial operations with existing and potential customers, and work closely with the Sales team along the process.
  • Monitor and oversee contract execution from a legal point of view.
  • Research other applicable regulations (copyright, accessibility, anti-spam, etc.) in the sector of the Company at an international level, and assist in the development of compliance strategies where required.
  • Be a tech-savvy legal specialist to properly perform all the above.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (at least 5 years, incl. Master, Bar Exam or Business school), preferably in business and commercial law, including contracts law.
  • Proficient/bilingual level of English. Must be familiar with American English legal jargon.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience as a graduated/licensed attorney in business, commercial and/or international law either in a law firm and/or in a company.
  • Outstanding negotiation, research skills and experience.
  • You must have Spanish or EU working papers.
  • You live in or near Barcelona or are willing to relocate.


Bonus Skills:
  • Familiar with both civil and common law legal systems.
  • Knowledge about FERPA, COPPA and GDPR regulations.
  • Additional languages.
