The Opportunity
In this role, you will be a contributor to Sunfolding’s control systems, primarily focused on firmware and software testing for custom controls hardware. An ideal candidate will have a balance of creativity, communication skills, dependability, and a rigorous engineering background.Responsibilities- Define test procedures, develop hardware and software to automate new and existing validation and verification tests.
- Design, implement, test, debug and provide ongoing support for system software and firmware to meet technical and customer requirements.
- Conduct and participate in code and design reviews.
- Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers in planning, design and development of systems to ensure proper overall system performance.
- Collaborate with the field team to diagnose and debug field issues.
- Support software and firmware development to meet Sunfolding’s Product Roadmap.Opportunities will include working on diverse aspects of the software stack from embedded controls to cloud monitoring and visualization.
Requirements- Familiarity with Dev Ops and Agile processes.
- Familiarity in automated software testing and Test Driven Development.
- Functional testing experience including testing new software to ensure each function meets the required spec, as well as unit testing and regression testing.
- Ability to interact effectively and clearly with managers, engineers, and end-users.
- Demonstrated passion for following rigorous software development processes.
- Experience with Python and C/ C++Familiarity with networking and serial communications.
- Ability and willingness to occasionally travel in order to test and debug at customer sites.
- 3+ years experience in a similar role.
- BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Extra Credit- Additional years of experienceExperience with LabVIEW, or other test-oriented programming.
- Product testing of PCBAs, embedded systems, or other electronics production validation.
- Experience with AWS IoT.
- C# windows development experience.
