About the role:
Aircall is hiring a Commercial Counsel to help us support our Paris and Madrid offices.This individual will work closely with our Go-To-Market teams (Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success), Marketing, Business Operations, HR and Finance teams, leading legal negotiations and giving advice at all levels of the organization.This position must be able to work collaboratively with other team members across disciplines.You should have the ability to work independently from day one but should know when to escalatelegalissues. This position will report to our Senior Commercial Counsel responsible for EMEA.Your mission @Aircall
  • Draft, review and negotiate in English or Spanish a variety of complex technology and commercial transactions to support customer sales, our purchase of software and services from vendors, and growth-driven partnerships (e.g., SaaS agreements, MSAs, Terms and Conditions, NDAs and others);
  • Respond promptly to requests for legal advice from Go-To-Market teams;
  • Support the company’s procurement efforts (consultant agreements, trial agreements);
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our contract templates, playbooks and processes, with an emphasis on efficiency and scalability;
  • Engage internal stakeholders to identify and remediate impediments to deal closure, including potential workarounds if applicable and consistent with corporate policy and best practices;
  • Contribute to the development of training programs to ensure sales teams can assist and support negotiations;
  • Advise internal clients on a variety of diverse legal areas in relation with the Company’s business activities on the above-mentioned geographical area.
A little more about you:
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in negotiating technology agreements and/or complex transactions, at either a large law firm and/or in house(startup experience is a plus);
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish;
  • French is a plus;
  • Qualification in at least one European jurisdiction;
  • Ability to identify contractual issues, assess risk and provide concise business-focused legal advice;
  • Highly organized and process driven, with the ability to work independently with little guidance, but with an understanding of whenlegalmatters need escalation;
  • Hands-on experience handling complex transactions in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong business acumen and team spirit, with a practical, creative, collaborative approach to problem solving with the ability to make sound decisions and exercise impeccable judgment;
  • Working knowledge of GDPR.
