You will support our team in development and validation of Sunfolding’s pneumatic and controls equipment, primarily focused on firmware and software design for custom controls hardware. You will be working with an experienced embedded systems and firmware team, and contribute to firmware development, testing, sensing, embedded systems design and implementation, and remote monitoring of green energy.An ideal candidate will have a balance of creativity, interpersonal skills, dependability, a rigorous engineering background, with the ability and desire to build high performance machines that last for decades.We offer a competitive salary, 100% paid medical, vision, and dental coverage for employees plus dependents, unlimited PTO, 401K, and access to our in-house 2500 sq. ft modern prototyping shop.Responsibilities
  • Implement new software and firmware features to meet Sunfolding’s Product Roadmap.
  • Opportunities will include working on diverse aspects of the software stack from embedded controls to cloud monitoring and visualization
  • Design, implement, test, debug and provide ongoing support for system software and firmware to meet technical and customer requirements.
  • Conduct and participate in code and design reviews
  • Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers in planning, design and development of systems to ensure proper overall system performance.
  • Serve as technical lead on programs, working cross functionally to meet deliverables and resolve technology or system issues.
  • Collaborate with the field team to diagnose and debug field issues
  • Define test procedures, develop hardware and software to automate new and existing validation and verification tests
  • Contribute to product roadmaps and development of next generation products
Requirements
  • 2-5+ years experience.
  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Ability to interact effectively and clearly with managers, engineers, and end-users
  • Demonstrated passion for following rigorous software development processes
  • Expertise developing in C/C++ and object oriented design for hardware based systems
  • Familiarity with networking and serial communications
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel in order to test and debug at customer sites

Bonus Credits:
  • Experience with Python, LabVIEW, or other test-oriented programming
  • Product testing of PCBAs, embedded systems, or other electronics production validation
  • Experience with AWS IoT
  • C# windows development
  • Familiarity in automated software testing and Test Driven Development
  • Experience developing with Zigbee, WirelessHART, or other IEEE802.15.4 based wireless communications
  • Experience in the energy industry
