The OpportunityWe are looking for a candidate ready to assume a highly impactful role in our growing Sunfolding Construction Network business. This is a ground floor opportunity to shape the strategy you will own. This position will write the roadmap for subcontractor effectiveness and installation best practices across the entire portfolio. Over time, the incumbent will focus on continuous improvement, and will likely lead a construction management team as the Sunfolding Construction Network continues to expand. Your expertise and leadership will drive safety and consistency in the field, further solidifying the value Sunfolding brings to project owners, solar developers, EPCs and subcontractors.
This position will report to the Sunfolding Customer Experience Team and work closely with Senior Leadership to find simply smarter ways to deliver Sunfolding products and ensure customer projects are successful.Location:This position is open to remote candidates or at Sunfolding Headquarters, Alameda, CAEssential Functions Responsibilities
  • Develops a culture of change, utilizes change management and change leadership to effectively roll out initiatives, and continuously evolve our playbook;
  • Incorporates lean construction techniques and process improvements to help drive efficiencies and consistency across the project portfolio;
  • Design processes that ensure employee and subcontractor safety is the primary priority on every project;
  • Develop tools to aid in tracking and enhancing installation efficiency i.e speed+quality;
  • Compile and report on successes and gaps;
  • Continuously looks for opportunities to lean out activities and simplify the overall operating model;
  • Drive continuous improvement of construction practices;
  • Capture best practices and present internally and externally to improve future projects;
  • Regional and National travel;Partners with other functional teams to provide necessary support and solutions for all construction projects;
  • Able to fill in on a job site if required, as a Construction Manager or Superintendent.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration or other related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Masters’ degree preferred;
  • A current and complete knowledge of construction practices, contracts, billing, detailing, estimating, running crews, and managing construction projects from start to finish.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience;5+ years professional, managerial, and hands-on field level experience;
  • In depth knowledge of electric utility construction, maintenance, and resource planning;
  • Regulatory compliance and safety best practices;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills;
  • Ability to learn quickly, establish trust, and communicate effectively
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with productivity tools and the ability to transfer software experience between platforms;
  • Strong customer relationship and communications skills;
  • Highly organized and influential, including the ability to influence multiple stakeholders, without direct authority.
