Job Description

As part of Penumbra’s legal team, you will support a growing and dynamic company that develops ground-breaking technology to further its mission of saving patients’ lives. You will work closely with other attorneys, paralegals and support staff as part of this closely-knit team while partnering with external departments essential to the Company’s operations.What You'll Work On
  • Provide pragmatic, business-oriented advice to key department stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Utilize your keen analytical skills to develop creative solutions to problems.
  • Draft, revise, and negotiate all types of agreements, with an emphasis on technology vendor, marketing, and supplier agreements.
  • Interpret, advise, and provide practical business counsel to the Product, Engineering and Operations teams on applicable laws, rulings and regulations relevant to digital marketing and e-commerce, including in the areas of consumer protection, marketing and online payments.
  • Advise on privacy matters related to the Company’s product offerings and day-to-day operations, including HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA and other relevant laws and regulations
  • Create and support continuous improvements of forms, policies, and processes to help streamline, simplify, and automate support
What You Bring
  • J.D. and membership with the California Bar or at least one other state’s bar and the ability to obtain registered in-house counsel status
  • A minimum of 5+ years of relevant legal experience
  • Excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude
  • Ability to process a high volume of work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with legal issues affecting the Internet and e-commerce (such as consumer protection, open source, intellectual property, privacy, SaaS, advertising, and payments)
· Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience
  • Proactive, strategic and thoughtful problem-solving ability
  • Experience working in-house at a medical device or pharmaceutical company, or other company in a highly regulated industry, is preferred
