We are looking for a talented Implementation Engineer to join Sympower's expanding team in Spain. This is a full-time position, intended to be based in Barcelona, but with some flexibility in the exact location. Join us in accelerating the energy transition!
As an Implementation Engineer, you are an important part of the Sympower team to establish the connection between the assets used for demand response and our platform. You will be responsible to define the link between our system and the customer’s processes. You will also ensure that this setup will work with regards to the performance requirements of the intended demand response market. This is done by knowing our platform’s key properties and strengths combined with collaborating with our customers’ technical counterparts to understand their processes and the flexibility potential in it. Based on the candidates wishes this role can easily be developed to involve more work in technical sales.
What you’ll do:
- Work with our customers to identify suitable processes to be controlled and specify hardware implementations
- Specify our hardware installations at our customers and instruct installers how to use our hardware
- Execute tests and analyze results to ensure technical performance as part of the internal requirements and prequalification requirements from external parties (TSOs, DSOs, etc.)
- Manage and maintain the existing installations at our customers
- Provide technical support during customer acquisition, both pre-sales and sales work
- Collaborate with our team of software developers in technical development
Requirements
- Interest in demand response, energy systems and the energy transition
- Bachelor’s in electrical/automation engineering or equivalent experiences
- Experience in reading and commenting on electrical diagrams and/or automation systems
- Team player with collaboration skills
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Good analytical skills, able to provide market analysis data to the business
- Willingness to learn new things and develop yourself
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced scale-up environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English
- Availability to travel (within and outside of Spain)
Beneficial skills
- Experience of reserves and balancing power markets
- Experience in industrial processes e.g. paper amp; wood, metal, waste amp; water, greenhouses, energy, EVs, logistics, heavy industry.
- Experience from changing/programming in automation systems
- Knowledge of the electricity sector
- Experience from other start-ups/scale-up companies
