Our mission is to make the healthcare experience more human. Docplanner is a SaaS tool for doctors and clinics used to optimize their patient flow, reduce no-shows, and digitize their practices in order to be able to spend more time with the patient. We also operate marketplace websites in 12 countries which serve 62 million patients monthly to easily find the right doctor and book an appointment. Only last month 5 mln medical visits were booked via our platform. That makes us the world's leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients.
Docplanner was founded in 2012 in Poland. Our team now numbers 1,600 people based across 8 offices in Warsaw and Barcelona (international headquarters) as well as Istanbul, Rome, Mexico City, Curitiba, Bologna and Granada. It is backed by leading venture capital funds including Point Nine Capital, Goldman Sachs Private Capital and One Peak Partners, raising a total of 130 million to date.

Responsibilities
Reporting into Docplanner Group’s General Counsel, you will be responsible for the Legal and Compliance function for the Spanish market (our offices in Barcelona and Granada), and support the rest of the Legal team on international matters, in a fast-growing, young and exciting environment.
Areas of responsibility:
- gradually take ownership of legal, compliance and corporate governance matters relating to the two core business in Spain (Doctoralia and ClinicCloud)
- manage and advise on the release of product features or new business lines from a legal/regulatory perspective (ensure compliance with all applicable laws)
- monitor, review and update the company's internal controls and policies in areas such as data protection (GDPR) and anti-bribery, and develop/provide internal training and controls as required
- negotiate and manage commercial legal work (contracts for clients, suppliers, partners, website terms and conditions, etc.)
- act as legal business partner to various departments; build strong relationships across the organisation; manage outside counsel
- partner with HR on day-to-day employee-related matters requiring legal support in Spain
- manage any litigation processes affecting the Spanish entity
- manage and foresee business risks and opportunities by regularly reviewing changes in the regulatory/legal environment
- support the rest of Docplanner Group’s Legal team, and senior management, in the legal aspects of Mamp;A processes, fundraising efforts, partnerships and other strategic projects
Requirements
If you:
- have a Spanish law degree (qualified lawyer a plus)
- possess 2-5 years of experience (indicative only) as a business lawyer/legal counsel, either in a law firm or in-house (tech company experience a plus), having focussed on one or more of the following areas (cross-border experience a plus): commercial law, corporate/Mamp;A, corporate governance, finance, tech sector regulation, intellectual property, data protection, healthcare sector regulation
- are able to work and communicate fluently in English and Spanish, both written and oral (professional proficiency required)
- are able to make quick decisions with sound business judgement (balancing both legal and commercial aspects)
- are detail-oriented and well organised
- are a fire-starter and can clearly demonstrate your ability to be proactive without continuous supervision
- have strong interpersonal skills
- are hungry for challenges and seek constant learning / embrace frequent change
