Shift Coordinator Intern - Rider Operations

Our Operations Department provides operational support to our riders amp; everyone on shift in the warehouse, and to undertake all scheduled operational duties as required. The Ops teams focus on the very core of our business which is responsible for our 10 minute deliveries. This role will provide significant operational knowledge and in-depth knowledge to the local teams to ensure successful performance and excelled customer and client experience in the final mile.

At Gorillas, a Shift Coordinator works vigorously to ensure organisation of staffing schedules and the fulfilment of staffing requests. Additionally, a Shift Coordinator may work with the onboarding team, and assist human resources in various tasks. We expect you to have great communication and organizational skills, as well as outstanding attention to detail.

Your responsibilities

• Plan the shifts for our riders
• Make sure that our dark stores are always fully staffed and thus make our 10 minute delivery promise achievable
• Ensure that shifts are fairly allocated in order to maximize rider satisfaction
• Solve our riders' requests and ensure that every rider knows her/his schedule
• Check that every rider receives the working hours stipulated on her/his contract
• Create onboarding material for the riders to make sure they know how to use our tools
• Communicate any hiring needs with the planning team
• Work with the planning team to optimize shifts' efficiency and thus be a key part in operations' profitability

Requirements

• Experience in a professional role in a fast-paced environment
• You are a very detailed oriented and organized person
• Knowledgeable about the typical issues riders might be facing and you are always willing to offer a helping hand
• You will support regional managers with planning
• Willing to make Gorillas your mission and are ready to put a lot of hard work into making this business a success
• You are a people person amp; you love exciting people about things
• Very good communication skills and high proficiency in both written and spoken English
