Responsibilities
You’re our perfect candidate if you:
- Install and configure software and hardware
- Manage network electronics and technology tools about it
- Set up accounts and workstations
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
- Troubleshoot issues and outages
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
- Design and deploy networks; Maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways
- Maintain the integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
- You troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.
- Optimise our non-production environments (development, test, integration and pre-prod) with focus on agility team productivity.
Requirements
Your expertise in a nutshell:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
- Experience with AWS, Google Cloud or Azure it's a must
- Experience with databases, networks and patch management
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
- Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language
- 3+ years of experience working with Linux operating systems (BSD or Windows systems are a plus)
- Experience working with CI/DI Software (Jenkins is a plus)
- Familiarity with web servers (Nginx is preferred)
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. LPI, RHCSA, RHCE and/or AWS) is a plus
