Overview

Our Business Operations team is responsible for i) Darkstore Operations; ii) Rider Operations; iii) Customer Service; iv) Supply Chain (w/Commercial Team). This team ultimately owns the 10 mins delivery promise to our customers.


Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of +8 people to greatness - hire top talents and help them perform, grow and develop as professionals. Plus oversee 300+ riders around the territory
  • Devise the mid-term strategy of the Rider Operations team in Spain, which encompasses how to scale our rider base, meet the 10 mins delivery SLA and keep our rider crew happy
  • Launch amp; support various initiatives from onboarding new riders to improving rider sentiment to paying riders incentives for good work, etc. In a high growth environment, it will be important to project manage across a few key stakeholders amp; to prioritize the most important challenges and tasks first.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and execute projects to improve rider performance (growth, delivery time) continuously via performance analysis, dashboard creation with the right KPIs, improvement of KPI such as Rider Cost Per Order, Utilisation Rate, etc.
  • Plan, direct, and manage various components of rider operations including onboarding, shift management, route planning and delivery efficiency
  • Ensure that we have enough riders at all times (this includes making sure that we have enough riders as we expand/launch new locations).
  • Ensuring high driver quality through training and performance management.
  • Create and implement plans to improve the rider performance.
  • Ensure riders are supported and feel like valued Gorillas employees
  • Work with headquarters to learn about and implement best practices from our other markets
  • Perform administrative duties, and additional functions, as needed and determined by management

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in B2C or ecommerce, ideally working directly with last mile logistics. Consulting, Banking or eCommerce experience is a plus
  • A strong understanding of the Italian rider market - and a willingness to disrupt the way it currently operates
  • Prior experience in building and leading operations and logistics teams
  • Affinity for using data to make strategic decisions
  • Ability to learn fast and adapt your strategies and tactics to the dynamic world of super-fast delivery. Super-fast delivery means sometimes doing other things super-fast.
  • A desire to work in a dynamic environment at one of the fastest growing startups in Europe
  • Act like an owner. We believe that’s a great driving principle
  • You have a hands-on mentality and are willing to get your hands dirty
  • You have very good communication skills and are proficient in both written and spoken English and Spanish
