Overview
As Blok’s first Purchasing Manager, your responsibilities would include studying the market to identify price trends and future availability of products by locating vendors. You also will negotiate prices and margins, to guarantee top range profitability for our company. The daily life of our purchasing manager will include purchasing and maintaining orders and records, and ensuring that all parts of this process are running smoothly.
You will be working closely alongside the central commercial and logistics teams, reporting directly to the general manager. The proactive, motivated and experienced person who fills this role will be contributing towards our mission by ensuring that our products reflect the customer’s desires, and allowing our Blok to grow.
Requirements
In this role you will
- Manage and develop close and constructive collaborations with our suppliers
- Work alongside the purchasing teams, giving your insight and helping with all parts of the decision-making process
- Deploy and follow-up all purchasing procedures - you will have full ownership of the process
- Optimise all spending (direct and indirect cost) in coordination with the company and in line with the target submitted on a yearly basis
- Build and report KPIs, determined in close coordination with the General Manager.
- Rationalise the supplier portfolio and aim to standardise our item database
- Constantly work towards improving our payment terms
- Be the person in control of our supplier contracts, with the responsibility of writing, reviewing, and signing them
- Provide any necessary support for projects that may involve purchasing - be adaptable to any changes or updates on our future Blok needs
Desired experience
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a Purchasing Manager position
- Extensive knowledge, ideally from the groceries industry, with the ability to make the right decisions fast
- Be a superstar negotiator, who understands how to lead with initiative, leverage, and secure new agreements - maintain close contact with suppliers and constantly seek negotiation to improve our relations
- A fast learner who can quickly adapt to our lightening speed pace of work - who has the entrepreneurial spirit of Blok, guiding us to the next level
- A dreamer, you enjoy a new adventure every day in purchasing goods
- Confident and comfortable with building relationships with suppliers
- Ambitious - there will be an abundance of opportunity to grow professionally
- Fluent Spanish and English, a big bonus if you have a third language (IT/FR/PG)
