Job Description

IntelliSense.io has an interesting opportunity for talented Applied Data Scientists to join our growing team. The Applied Data Scientist will work on our world-class models including data assessment and preparation; updating and upgrading existing models, and developing new tools and models from idea to production. This role can be located remotely in the UK, Spain, Ireland, Brazil, Australia, and Chile.

With offices worldwide, IntelliSense.io is a fast-growing Industrial AI company disrupting mining operations through a real-time decision-making technology platform.

Our platform delivers a portfolio of innovative out-of-the-box applications for the Mining Industry, enabling Mine to Market automation through a No Capex model. These applications have been deployed at the Mining Majors across Latin America and Central Asia for base and precious metal operations.

IntelliSense.io’s headquarters are in Cambridge, UK, with a software engineering centre in Barcelona, Spain, and field offices in Chile, Kazakhstan, and Australia.

What you will contribute to

This varied role will give you the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, diverse, interdisciplinary team. Your day-to-day could include tasks such as:

  • Working with poor, noisy and/or limited data
  • Applying various mathematical, statistical and machine learning techniques to challenging problems
  • Rapidly developing ideas and iterating towards production
  • Communicating approaches and results to customers and colleagues
  • Cooperating with our Revenue teams and working with our partners
  • Identifying market opportunities, new technologies and approaches which can benefit our product and our customers
  • Assisting our Engineering team to build products using the models we have developed

  • Machine learning prediction and inference models
  • Configurable optimizers producing real-time recommendations
  • Rigorous treatment of uncertainty and errors in physical and machine learning models
  • Bayesian reconciliation of imprecise measurements
  • Robust treatment of challenging data sources and messy data

Requirements

We’d like to see someone with the qualifications below, but get in touch anyway if you like the sound of the role maybe we could figure something out

  • Formal training in one of the following fields:
    • Mathematical modelling, computational physics, numerical simulation or similar fields
    • Chemical engineering, process control or research in experimental physics
    • Algorithm development or implementation, code generation, autograd or related topics
  • Experience working with real-world data, particularly industrial sensor data, would be a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of Python tools and libraries for data science and scientific computation
