The salary range of this role is 85k-95k per annum, depending on experience.

About the role

We're looking for a Platform Lead, a passionate person with some experience working in a Platform team following a DevOps philosophy. You will help us improve our platform, improving developers' experience, reliability and scalability using a lean approach.

You will work with a techie, multi-disciplinary and lovers team which will give support across the company and integrate with all squads! We need you to help us with very attractive challenges in order to help Tymit to scale to the number of users we are aiming for; in reliability, scalability, observability, and security!

We need you to help us with the main task: Apps migrations from clusters technologies (field project AWS ECS!), with the challenges, that this implies on Monitoring/Insights, Configuration, Logging, zero-downtime upgrades, CI/CD, all around this new technology which is being an amazing journey of tech learning and problem-solving.

Platform Engineers at Tymit collaborate with different squads giving support to Engineering areas. Within the team, you will find Fran, Diego, Héctor, Raul, Alejandro and Carl.

During your time at Tymit you will

  • Analyse, groom, plan and execute the Tymit trunk Core Platform systems (i.e. epic designs which may affect more than one vertical in the company).
  • Pull knowledge from the technical epics' horizon in the early stage on Trunk/Horizontal domains/epics.
  • Ensure Platform is present at big architectural meetings of the company that could require Platform influence.
  • Influence architectures on the next Platform areas (to deliver set-up roadmaps): Data, Security and Services/Product.
  • Continuously assess the roadmap and vision of the Core Platform architecture to include improvements along the way mainly to deliver
  • Platform self services around: Observability, developer Experience (CI/CD, Deployments as a service, etc.), security.
  • Participate as a Platform core individual contributor to the solutions designed by the team, delivering work as part of the Principal engineers group.
  • Define, design and influence the ways of working of the Platform team and the data platform.
  • Define and design the role baseline for hard and soft skills for the CorePlatform, alongside other areas of the Platform vertical.
  • Participate in the hiring process of new Tymiteers (mostly in Platform and Engineering areas).
  • Organise and manage human resources within the Platform team to achieve the different goals of the Platform.
  • Be able to require/influence the hiring of more resources if there is not enough muscle in the Platform and Data Platform team.
  • Be able to influence Squad's priorities if existing dependencies on work related to them.
